Scenario for you techies

Hey guys,

I'll start by stating what i have

iPod classic
Android Phone w/ Tethering
Wifi/iTunes at home
iPhone cradle w/ BMW Apps

Looking to buy one of the newer iPod Touch's because of their wireless sync capability ONLY IF what I'm about to ask actually works.

What im trying to accomplish:

I don't use an iPhone, nor do I plan on ever getting one because I prefer Android.

While I'm driving, I'm looking to see if I can use the iPod touch with the iPhone cradle to connect to my car and provide music, BMW apps, and internet sync. The internet to the iPod would be provided by my wireless tethering on my Android phone. This way I can continue using my android platform, while still being able to take advantage of BMW apps.

The reason I say I want a newer gen iPod is so that I can use the wireless sync feature with my computer in my house so I don't have to bring my iPod in and out of my car! lol

Anyone know if this can be done? I don't wanna put money into an iPod and learn that its not possible

I have a Blackberry Torch running BBOS7.1 with tethering enabled, and a 3rd Gen iPod Touch. My car has BMW Apps, but no snap in adapter.

With tethering enabled, and the iPod plugged in using the 'white' Apple cable, I can:

See emails from the Blackberry via the office function (though the time of the emails is consistently one hour later than on the Blackberry itself)
See Facebook/Twitter/Web Radio from ipod
Play music via iPod with Album art on iDrive screen.

I cannot browse the internet (assuming because I don't have the BMW Assist paid plan and I live in the US).

Thanks for your input dude.

When you say this, are you referring to seeing this on the iPod itself, or on the iDrive screen using BMW Apps?
