OT: Worthwhile going to visit Boston?
Hi all,
I will be travelling with my wife and two kids 7 & 13, to the USA for a conference in Orlando in November, but will be in NYC for the last week of October. Whist there I am in NYC, there is a conference in Boston which I want to attend for two days. Just wanting some advice on if I should take the family up to visit Boston? I will be in the conference for both the days, so the family will be on their own. If I leave them in NYC, then there would be lots more to do, I would think. Not sure if they would get bored in Boston over those two days. Thanks for your input, guys |

Boston is one of my favorite cities, really has some allure. unless your kids like to shop at malls, not much to do in Boston unless your 21+

look of for miserable Red Sox and Patriot fans. they are douches. but like Rev said not much to do unless they go drinking which i hope they dont at there age. LOL my advice is take a train to Boston and leave the family in the city. they will have a better time.

Boston is nice but IMHO it's more of a drinking/college town. You do have the whole American History aspect but I don't know how interested your kids are in that.
In NY you have Times Sq, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Museums. Catch a Knicks game, There's a 99% chance that they will suck again this year so tickets won't be expensive or hard to find. Shops on 5th ave, maybe spot a celeb in SoHo or anywhere around the city. You can pretty much walk everywhere or the subways can take you anywhere you need to go too. |

theres tons more to do in NYC area than in Boston (sorry Red Sox fans), but your family is way better off in the tri state area than in Bean-town...enjoy!
