Difference between M-Tech and OEM Spoiler?

Are there any differences between these two spoilers?

The M-Sport spoiler has a small space underneath, the OEM is a thick lip spoiler across the back. This is on an E90 but gives you an idea:

I'm leaning towards the M-sport spoiler..

I hate how the M3 spoiler looks. It makes the trunk look like a small wave lol.
