E92 Jet Black Paint Correction

Day one results, follow up visit next week. New windshield (old trim / rock chip) and new OEM hood roundel will be installed then as well. My aftermarket carbon style roundel has not held up to the heat of being on a black hood in the sun.

Looks good!

I love Jet Black when it is detailed.. But keeping it clean is a PITA.

I imagine it is the easiest to correct- after all, it's jet black
I wonder how much of a bitch it would be for a BSM car...

The differences between BSM and Jet are under the clear, so it would be the same. Correction only touches the clear. The idea with BSM is that the sparkles hide issues in the clear because it distracts the eye. To me it just looks dirty.

Yea I know what you mean...it looks great though immediately after a detail. Had some weird hologram like effects on the door panels against things like grass etc...freaky.

My detailer has an expert sense of how to polish. Before bringing it to him I got it 101% clean with the two bucket method etc. Then he used clay bar with glass cleaner on the entire car and then Meguiar's 3 step and did all of the polishing by hand. He used 3M aluminium polish on the window trim also by hand. It took him all day!

I'm starting to believe that the key to 100% hologram elimination is hand polishing with no DA machine

The key to no holograms is using the right polish. Meguiars 205 always left me with holograms. Ever since using Menzerna SF4500 (BMW's OE Polish apparently what they use in the factory) I have never gotten holograms.

Come on by and ill give you lessons!
