That's coz you're a chick!!! How rarely do you go out? I drive mine every day. The annoying part is how quickly I get brake dust on my wheels.

I meant that most chicks are cleaner than guys... You on the other hand love great cars and you're a chick. Hence you have a great car and it's clean.

Yeah it's annoying. I used to wash mine myself, but with the M3 being black it's a major pain. I get mine washed at the local star wash or at BMW. Although the M3 doesn't see outside the garage if it looks like rain.

Here in Melbourne with stage 3 (and going onto stage 4 water restrictions in the coming months)...i bought a 2000litre tank and pump so that I can wash my car!! Talk about dedication! Screw watering my gardens and lawns... i more concerned about my dirty car...(which by the way i wash at least once-twice a week!) I find it therapeutic!

yes, i second that - it is bloody annoying...! i don't know why BMW can't use brake pads with less dust!? especially on the front end! i see cars all the time with little to no brake dust on the wheels - and their bodies aren't super duper clean...!

I go to one of those car wash places. I read the paper and have a coffee and save time (coz if I did it, I would take 3 or 4 hours- I get a bit anal when I used to wash my own cars and these were no water restrictions). I'm afraid I don't have time to do it myself and I'm renting my place so I can't get a water tank Why don't I bring my car over to your place, you can "unwind" and wash my car while I play Gran Turismo on the playstation in your car!

this is the reason why i haven't had my car cleaned by someone else. you only need one bad washing and your paint is "swirled."

anyone know an operation who does things correctly?

when i first got my car i used to wash at least twice a week

once i even washed my car twice in one day
but haha that was a bit overkill - had a date, what can i say? haha
nowadays i give it a spray down at one of those places every week and give it a proper clean probably every month or so (bloody water restrictions - it's at stage 3 now ugh)

You're right - one bad wash and that's it.... Has anyone tried the new waterless spray on car cleaner- apparently it's pretty good. Just spray on and wipe off!

Go touchless carwash like BMW use Or alternatively, just head into BMW on the weekends and have them wash it for you.

I saw it at the supermarket in the auto section a few days ago, but a mate of mine who is a car detailer was telling me about it. He hasn't used it yet but i'll let you know what he thinks.

It's probably some kind of surfactant which envelops the dirt so i'm sure it only works on mildly dirty cars with new paint. And you'd go through a bunch of rags i reckon....

Standby for a report......

Where did you get it washed?

Alto use touchless wash, as does Star wash so they don't use sponges or touch the car. It's also air dried so they don't chamois it either.

trivett classic...

air dry as in just leave it sitting there? wouldn't that leave watermarks? or airdry as in blow air onto it?

What else does BMW do for its customers whilst waiting for their car services?
Mazda seems to provide magazines, tv, good coffee, a good car wash inside out, plus a hefty total bill
