Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I have the pulsating noise as well. Does it sound like this?

I solved the problem on my last e92. It's the fuel lines for the high pressure fuel pump. When the pump pressurises (easiest to hear when at idle and hundreds of miles from a stealer...) and stops you get a pulsating noise that comes throught the cabin. It's stopped by putting new clips onto the fuel line which hold it more securely - there are more of them too.

Mine was fixed under warranty and now there's been some form of TSB about it.

Good luck! J

could it be a metal on metal whine? i know it sounds electronic but it could be metal related...

anyway they told me to take it straight in if it starts again.
anyone else have further updates?
Fuel tank pressure breather/evap/emissions controls ???

My old S2000 used to 'Mooooo' quite loudly as the tank air pressure was released.
Obviously after a blast or parking up in hot weather it will be more common.
