Dackz,
I don't like the PE tips either and has been one of my reservations about getting it. How did you put the stock tips on your PE?

Like I said though, I searched UP AND DOWN for what I wanted and in the end I just couldnt find what I was looking for (damn that sounds like U2, ha). The good thing is that the tips wont adversley effect the sound to the point of making a huge differnce with the exhaust. I dont think it did anything to mine honestly, maybe mad it a TAD bit deeper But thats about it. My only regret about the exhaust is that I didnt get it sooner.

In piggy, it will stay the same therefore you are not making the same power at both locations.

Interesting....thats what I am trying to avoid, is the fact of it turning the turbo's more for elevation. I want 12 here, not 15. Dang.

Dude, your car is pushing nearly 11 here anyway becuase of the elevation. 8.5 psi stock. Roughly -2.5 psi atmospheric pressure from all of my testing when I had a tune. So to make even 1psi the turbos have to work at a 3.5 psi rate. So 11 psi at full boost to hit the 8.5 psi target.
1 more psi to hit 12 will be like 15 or 20 hp. Not even worth it for 8 or 9 hundred dollars in the Corn Cobb tune. Don't waste your time with another tune, just turn up that POS JB+ tune beyone 15% |

Yeah, what Matt said. Need to be pushing at least 14, and more like 16psi here to make a big difference. 12psi here isn't a lot more than stock like he said. Unfortunately the turbos are working harder to get to that psi up here though, so any mods you can do to increase the efficiency or decrease temps can go a long way (IC and catless DPs) to helping your little turbos not work as hard.

Checked out the tips, they are much more polished than I thought they would be - that is a good thing! Probably be a week or two before I get it on. I'll run it with the existing tips and see what I think. I have heard changing the tips changes the sound - I wonder since you went with stock if it is different than if you went with a bigger 3.5" tip or something? I'm going to go for a spin once the stock muffler gets cut off to see what I think of the sound/drone with a muffler delete

If we get a clear day (roads wise) up here I'll see if I can do some stock map logs. Would be good to know. It is snowing hard right now and it may be it for the season's testing. I barely got the ETS FMIC installed before the storm hit. Stock would not be truly stock at this point due to FMIC + DCI. It is cold enough outside I doubt the FMIC is doing much at low rpm. |
