Not just insurance. They also hold boost better. My OEM CP has some minor leaks in the DV. I can see the oil. This causes over boost as the dme over compensates.

Hey guys do you think i'd get away with using the stock DV's for an N54 with the Charge Pipe? im really not in to the BOV sound...was planning to just replace them with forged DV's or something once the stockies start giving me grief.

I have an aluminium charge pipe with the stock diverter valves and they're doing just fine.

I've run up to 16 - 17 psi on them for a little while. Many have said they will start getting weak with prolonged use, however Forge make an upgrade replacement diverter valve that will fit where the OEM ones are.
