Interesting Cars At Snetterton Thread
I suggested on my into thread that I would put up some interesting pictures of cars I get at work on track so I thought I would share these...
My job is the operations manager, so I look after pretty much everything that happens from the paddock to the track, the marshals, the safety team and the operation of each day. Ill it update regularly so people can see first hand new race cars and things they may not see on the road.. Ill start with some previous shots... Fantastic shots there Jimbo - what a great job you have. I must say Snetterton was always one of my favourite tracks and then when Mr Palmer announced he was going to revamp it i was worried - but the new 300 is epic and now without question in my top 3 uk tracks. Ive done quite a few bike track days at Snetterton and one in the car. Im actually booked to do 300 on April 29th through No Limits on the bike - will you be there? If you are i will look out for you and say hello.

Thank You! Combination of mine and a chap I work with, between us we try and get some good ones! The 300 is popular, and seems to be getting more so which can only be a good thing. Change was overdue! I take it thats your S1000RR? - Superb bikes, big fan, shame I'm terrified of riding a motorcycle!! Ill be there on the 29th, you'll probably see me at sign on, or if not ill be the tart in the safety car or in race control! |

Any chance of a spin in the M3 safety car!!?? Still miss my E92 M3's, such a great car. And if youre in race control i'd better be a good boy and not get black flagged!! Will definitely try and look out for you but if you see the S1000RR and you get a chance, come over and say hello!

No doubt i'm sure you can come out in the Safety Car, you may even get a free lift back if you're one of the lucky ones who runs out of fuel mid session I used to spend a lot of time helping customers get through noise testing with the S1000RR when it first came out, but doesn't seem to be so much of an issue these days. The Panagale is the new noisy kid on the block! |

How funny you should mention noise testing - im running an Akropovic stubby on mine but ive kept the cat - it tested 95db at Cadwell at 5,500 rpm - however, a friend of mine ran his bike at Silverstone last year and they asked him to rev to 10,500 rpm and he failed their test where a week before at Brands he passed no issues at 98 db!!?? I'd never heard of sound testing at 10,500 rpm before?? I hope Snetterton havent changed their rules on this?
As for the Ducati - the two friends i will be with on the 29th, one will be on his Aprilia RSV4 R APRC and the other on his brand new Panigale R with Termi's, so that should be interesting!!!

Akropovic will be fine, the Termi pipes sometimes fail static on the Panagale, but we are used to them now so we try them on drive by metres and they are fine.
10,500 RPM - That is insane, and If I was the owner I would have refused. We test for track days using ACU guidelines, so for a 1000 such as yours its 5,500rpm at 45 degrees 0.5metre. Any probs, come find me! |

Some are iPhone, tinkered with in Gimp, and some are with a Nikon D3 and whatever lens my colleague sticks on for me! Im not to clever with cameras, just lucky to be able to use decent kit and then tinker with the after shots.

I would say it does depend upon whether you mean from a car or bike point of view - from a bike pov which is what i do most of then id say Brands GP (not indy), Silverstone Arena GP, Snetterton 300 - not necessarily in that order!!
