I did it on my car. Nice change in shifting. Goes into 6th in sport at like 70 mph before it wouldn't. Drive puts you in 6th at like 45, kinda sucks but I keep it in sport on regular roads and then move it to regular drive once I get on the highway. The shift firmness and quickness in sport is great though. Really the way bmw should have done it originally.

Stupid question, is M when you are using the paddles? Isn't that essentially the DS but with you changing the gears?

If you are in DS and you use the paddles, you are put into M mode. They car will not shift itself until you place it back in D. If you are in D and use the paddles, you are momentarily put into M, but it automatically reverts to D within a few seconds.

Any issues getting this flash done while under warranty? Any horror stories of the dealer (Fields) seeing the flash and denying warranty? I want this so bad.

Because it changes the display on the dash, it would be hard for a tech to miss while driving the car. It is not as if he has to check the firmware version to catch you. I personally would not risk it, but I never had a dealership "hook-up" as others claim to have.

You could revert back to stock software, but I dont see a reason why. Bmw works on alpina cars, they have the software. I'd think if they don't void a powertain warranty if you buy a PE exhaust and install it yourself, how is the flash any different really.

So then do the flash myself so I can flash back if I have to. Makes sense.
I have to get all the software together and installed on a laptop. I bought a cable from a friend so I could get set up to code my car. I think I'll start looking into the software.
