If you miss out this Sunday, then Wednesday is now the cheapest day in the petrol cycle (was Tuesday, at least in Sydney anyway).

For more info, see the Drive article here...
http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/Ar...eID=58987&vf=1

For current price trends around Sydney, see the NRMA website here...
http://www.mynrma.com.au/cps/rde/xch...tch_search.htm

P.S. According to NRMA, Saturday is cheapest for Diesel

I thought both BP and Shell unleaded is only 93 octane. A few years back before BP Ultimate and Shell V-Power came out, it was premium unleaded which is 95 octane. I dont think u can get 95 any more in shell. Maybe you can still get 95 in other petrol stations. But I always fill up with V-Power anyway coz you can really fell the difference lowe down torque and high end power compared to normal 93 octance. V-power racing (100octane with 5% ethanol) is even slightly more better in high output cars but I dont think you can get it anywhere is Brisbane now plus it cost around 15-20 cents more than normal unleaded.

Unleaded petrol is 91 octane. It looks like V-Power is not available in WA, NT or Tassie (they get Premium Unleaded instead). For more info on Shell fuels, refer to the following link...

http://www.colesexpress.com.au/fuel.asp
Shell's comprehensive suite of motor fuels includes new Shell Fuel Economy Formula in Shell Unleaded, Shell Unleaded 95 (95 octane) and Shell Premium Unleaded. And now you'll find 98 octane New Shell V-Power (which replaces Shell Optimax) and New Shell V-Power Racing (100 octane with 5% ethanol), which replaces Shell Optimax Extreme.

Shell V-Power – Exclusive to Coles Express in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland.
New Shell V-Power is a high density, high performance 98 octane fuel, developed by the same scientists who develop Ferrari’s racing fuels.

Shell Premium Unleaded Petrol (Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Tasmania).
Shell Premium Unleaded has a minimum Research Octane Number of 95 and is designed for use in many imported and high performance vehicles which are designed to run exclusively on high octane fuels. These vehicles will benefit in power and economy when running on Shell Premium Unleaded Petrol.

Shell Unleaded 95 Petrol
Shell Unleaded 95 has a minimum Research Octane Number of 95. Many new car manufacturers are now producing vehicles that require fuels with a minimum octane rating of 95, a level that will eventually become the base standard for all unleaded fuels.

Shell Unleaded Petrol
Shell Unleaded Petrol has a minimum Research Octane Number of 91. Shell Unleaded Petrol is designed for use in most motor vehicles registered in Australia since 1st January 1986 and some pre 1986 models.

Hate to break the bad news but Shell V-Power Racing (100 octane with 5% ethanol) was phased out and discontinued December 2008 - so it's not available anymore!!

The highest octane unleaded Fuel now available in OZ is 98RON.........so much for choice
