4 ohm sold/shipped.
With regards to the 8 ohm...I've had lot of questions about this. This is actually the better "matched" tweeter for the OEM L7 center...that is because the tweeter is high-passed while the mid still runs full range. Thus you will have constructive interference (summing) in the high frequencies. This is precisely the reason that rainbow use the 8ohm for thier coaxial... |

So, in general, the 8Ohm is the better quality solution in that it blends better with the stock L7 system, even if powered by the stock L7 amplifiers?

A better. Spl blend i would say The 4 ohm is going to be 3dB brighter, the guy who bought it has an add-a-sub to his L7 so i imagine it might give him some pop on the high end to match the low end |

I got the 4ohm today. i have iDrive and installed it in a way that it wouldn't block the vents.
Edit: Using the bracket to suspend the tweeter over the mid driver didn't work for me. Was driving and on certain songs I could hear vibrating of the tweeter/mid touching. I decided to just use 3m tape to mount it to the side. Not pretty, but seems to work...so far. Last edited by Sample; 05-10-2012 at 10:02 PM.. |
