Bought a used 335i, tune-up?

I recently bought a 2007 335i Sedan with about 78K miles on it. The previous owner took very good care of the car; the paint and interior are in great shape considering its age and miles. Engine bay looks quite clean. It drives very well.

However, according to CarFax and what information the dealers would give me, the last regular maintenance this thing had was at 41K miles in early 2011. So either it's has had no maintenance since then, or it was done off the record. The oil level indicator is at full, so I'm assuming it's had the oil changed somewhat recently. The oil filter housing gasket was replaced recently.

The HPFP, injectors, and thermostat were replaced at 40K. The water pump is original but is not leaking (yet). Turbos are original but seem fine except for a slight rattle on a cold start.

I would like to go through and do a "tune up" on it and was wondering what you all would recommend doing. The mechatronics sleeve is leaking, so that's the first on my list.

Mechatronics sleeve
Transmission pan/filter
Transmission fluid
Engine oil and filter
Spark plugs
Coils?
Rear diff oil

What else should I add to the list? Thanks!

All Liquids (you have got most of them down), Coolant, Power steer wheel fluid. Intake filter, Cabin filter, charge the A/C, check the battery, check the brake pads and brake fluid etc. Stash away a bit of money for Waterpump, control arm bushings (usually when that fails people just swap in M3 control arms), tires?

Good Luck and have fun!!

That's pretty much what i got done when i went for a tune up, also had them check the valve cover gasket. as for the rattle on start up i had the same issue on cold start so i did the golf tee mod and I've never had that rattle again.

I believe the rattle is from the flap on the stock exhaust that opens and closes. Mine does it too and I believe the golf tee mod should get rid of it

The water pump doesn't leak; it just stops working. Waiting for it to leak as a trouble sign will do you no good. The only way to tell if the pump is going bad is to periodically scan the car with a BMW scan tool and look for water pump trouble codes.

The N54 requires plugs every 45,000 miles, so you are 12K away from needing new plugs. It's always good to "baseline" a used car with a complete compliment of new operating fluids so you can keep track of the maintenance schedule, whichever one you choose to follow.

Good luck with the car and I hope you enjoy it!

I just bought a used 335i and not more than an hour after owning it, I've ran into issues. Hopefully they honor their 30 day warranty...
