E9x Auto flappy paddles
I was in my local dealers this morning and noticed a 10 plate 330D vert.
On looking closer I noticed the design of the paddles had changed and the left paddle had a - mark and the right paddle had a + mark. On speaking to the Tec he confirmed that the mode of gear change on the auto's had changed (L paddle down a gear, r paddle up a gear), which has always made more sense to me anyway. I asked if the paddles were a retrofit ( the wiring change being relatively easy) and although the MSport steering wheels, both earlier and later versions share the same part number, the Tec seemed to think the cut out for the paddles differed to the earlier wheel. Anyone know different? Would the newer paddles fit the older MSport wheel? |

I think the DCT paddles can be retrofitted onto and M-Sport wheel with the cut-outs.
Also there's a guide somewhere here that shows you how to convert the existing paddles to be left-down right-up only functionality (involves a bit of pin-swapping on a couple of connectors behind the air-bag module. |
