DIY Chrome Kidney Grille
This is about a 10 minute job done right from the front of the car (as long as your fingers aren't too fat). Three clips on top; one on each side; two on the bottom. Not sure if the pix do it justice, but it looks great. Now I'm a 330xiT imposter.
First pic is old black grille; second is one grille black, one grille chrome; third is part number; fourth both chrome grilles installed. $26.77/ea grille at Circle. not a bad improvement for the money... |

Apparently I'm a moron because I can't, for the life of me, get my grills out. I've used the DIY on here and it still doesn't work for me. I'm afraid if I pull too hard I will break them.

There are 9 tabs. It's best to get the chrome ones and look at them so you see the location of the tabs and which direction you have to press them to get them to release. You don't need to much pressure - just medium/firm pressure. Work your way around from outside top tab pulling the unit out a few mm as you go so the previous tab does not click back in.

I then popped the new ones in and was done in almost seconds. They look GREAT. I like them so much better than the plain black ones that came with the 325. This is a nice, cheap upgrade(I only paid $25.20 each from Circle BMW. Good stuff. Last edited by Chuck_IV; 04-07-2006 at 08:15 PM.. |
