Dead snake in car.. Need advise

OP don't worry about the smell or odor in your car ... it will eventually go away... but think about this... That might be a dead snake but his soul mutated into your engine... you might have a 328xi but it has a new found SOUL & POWER of that snake...

It is better than a TURBO or SUPERCHARGED engine...

If the snake was lost in the cabin area I don't think it made it into engine compartment, if anything maybe I would guess its under the seat. I would start sniffing underneath there or even yet get a dog and put him into the car. The dog should definitely bug out and sniff and isolate where the snake is dead

I vote air vents and ducting. I had one escape in my Evo when I was bringing it to sell and thats the first place they go for.

Check your ducting.

Story is no joke, but before we lemoned my mom's x5 a service tech found a rats nest in the engine compartment. They think that the rats found a nice dark home aboard whatever ship that brought the car from the Fatherland to America.

I would imagine introducing rats to your engine could lure the snake out...
