Leather or Leatherette?

I recently bought a used 2007 e90 335i and would like to find out if my seats are leather or "leatherette". Is there an easy way to tell? They are black is that makes any difference.

Thanks.

Thanks! Looks like mine are Dakota leather. So should I be using leather or vinyl cleaning/conditioning products?

Really it doesn't matter much since the leather is coated not top grain. A lot of guys use 303 aerospace protectant on their leather but if you want to keep the smell and suppleness try Leatherique.

I ended up getting Lexol cleaner and conditioner. Seems to work well, but only time will tell.
