wheel offset question

hi. this is my first post to the forum sence I bought my 07 335i sedan, but I had a question about the rims I have. the offset on the wheels are high and was wondering if simply putting spacers to fill the void will make them fit?

front 18x8.5j et 56 with 255/35 r18's
rear 19x10j et 79 with 275/35 zr19's

45mm in back makes that 34. And 20mm in front makes it 36. That would work or am I way out of this.

Technically yes spacers are designed to push the wheels out and give you a lower offset. However in your case those rear wheels you have are far too high of an offset. I would never recommend putting on a 45mm spacer. Nor do i recommend staggering wheel heights for your BMW...What kind of wheels are they?

If you need help picking out properly fitting wheels/tires for your BMW let me know and I can point you in the right direction.

Did those wheels come off of a Corvette? That sizing is pretty crazy.

I don't think there's much of an issue staggering diameters, but you will definitely need spacers for those to fit, and you will also need new tires. It would be somewhat of a hassle finding 20mm spacers for the front, and 45mm sapcers for the rear, plus replacing the tires with the proper sizing altogether. If you're going to keep the wheels and run the spacers, I'd probably go with 235/40/18 fronts, and 265/30/19 rears.

they are corvette grand sport replicas. 5x120. thought they would look nice. but I understand that is a pretty giant offset to make up for. and yes if you can point me in the right direction that would help.

Look for something in a 19x8.5 ET35 and 19x9.5 ET35 or close to those offsets. That will be a nice fitment.

Wheels you can check out are Avant Garde M310 and M359. These are great market entry wheels.

If you need me to I can work you up a quote for either.

+1 those specs will bolt right on. You can also go with a more aggressive fitment if you are willing to roll your rear fenders.

19x8.5 ET35/19x9.5 ET33 would work, 19x8.5/19x10 ET38 would work, etc.

Some people will recommend going more aggressive than those wheel sizes as well, but this sizing will fit with a conventional tire, no spacers, and no rubbing.

Yea. the rear are 79 and the fronts are 56. I've had people tell me it will work. and others tell me not. I'm still torn because I think it would look good with these wheels

They could work if your comfortable using such a large spacer. I think as long as you use hubcentric spacers that bolt to the hub first and then the wheels bolt onto the spacer you should be fine. I wouldn't use spacers with extended lugs that size.

thanks for the input. I was thinking the same thing. I found a place that will custom make the spacers for like 110 shipped. which is the average price for spacers I've found... any suggestions on good spacer for this application
