hahaha, ok thank you very much for the clarification on the name. I call it "Throttle Body" because that's how I've always found it.

However, returning to the question, is it known what causes this "crazy" movement of ASV/TB?

I could find more but I'm not going to since there isn't literature by bmw calling it an ASV. VWfanboys use the term ASV.
Call it whatever you want, we both know what it actually does lol.
