Is your DCT not what you expected?
Are your downshifts slow and unpredictable? Does it seem like your DCT has a mind of it's own and doesn't want to shift right? Then get it fixed. SIB 28 02 10 is a new program for the DCT which fixes all of these issues. When it comes back from the dealer you will think you got a new car. Everything is smooth, when you floor it the car actually downshifts instead of reving the engine for a second before it desides oh wait it's time to shift. Just thought I would throw that out for anyone who might be having the same issue I had.

even in manual I was having downshifting issues going from 4th to 2nd I would do a quick 2 shifts and floor it to the kick down at 40mph. The DCT would get confused try to go into 1st but I was going to fast to go into first so it wouldn't do anything for a second and finally realise it should go into 2nd. Very odd I think the way I drove it caused the computer to go nuts. Anyway after that update all is good and manual doesn't do that anymore.

I'm sorry if I'm being an idiot, but isn't DCT a traction control system? Is this update available for all models?

Check for software recalls on DCT. I had it done after changing the oil on my 135i.

DCT is the biggest reason I regret not going for a 335i (which has DCT standard here). When it worked, the DSG in my Audi was so awesome and torque-converter automatics just don't compare. It's great to see that BMW's double clutch doesn't have the reliability issues of the VW/Audi box...hopefully this will be an option on the 2.0 turbo f32! Efficiency, convenience and fun all wrapped up!

No problems here
I drive mostly in sport with the sport button pushed, but kinda kills gas mileage as it won't shift into more than 5th gear during my admittedly short ride. Other times I drive it in manual, tend to hold it in gear to hear the exhaust then when up to cruising speed will quickly get it into 7th. Even in 7th gear it seems to rev pretty high and has good passing power.

Hmm I dont have any problems with my DCT. My 335is was manufactured in 03/2011.
Yes when I do go pass the kick down switch the car does gear down. |
