Any owners with 335i sport wheels try this?

I have been contemplating getting new wheels or painting the 335i sport wheels in shadow chrome that came on the e39 M5 and while looking at them I thought it may be cool to put accent lines on the stock rims for a more aggressive look. Take a look at these pics and let me know what you think. I think it looks pretty good, but it may be just because it looks different.

If you want that look just put on a set of 161's, there pretty close to what you have done. Not a fan of painting OEM wheels.

The 189's have classic look as they are, I wouldn't ever change them, but in the end it's your car, so it's up to you.

If you are leaning at all towards new wheels, lean harder! Otherwise, just leave the stock wheels alone until you find some other wheels you like more.

thanks for the replies. If I painted them I would use more of a gray color. The reason I am considering keeping them is they are easy to clean. I have had my share of volks/blitz/etc. and it seems like my paranoia of messing them up on roads went up 100%.

Also thought of getting them painted.

ps. +1 on "welfare status" hard to go back and think the idea was ever any good now..

Dont get me wrong bro, ppl normally sell the stockers or keep them untouched and buy new wheels in the event something happens you can always reverse. But you can always install stickers on them or paint them green. Some call it the "winter setup".

I was going to get them painted professionally, but in anycase, his points have merit; even though I question his personal wheel decisions..

They would look good if you got them machine-faced, rather than painted. Look a lot like Style 278 (see below), but those wheels only come in 17-inch.

Check out this site:

http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/

You might find some cool OEM stuff in there to fit your needs.
