What oil do you use?

My 325d needs a top up.

Searching on here showed that Mobil 1 is popular - stupid question, but is that just normal "Mobil 1" ie can it go in petrol and diesel engines?

Cheers

Diesel and petrol require different oils but there are Mobil 1 varieties for both.

Ring up and ask them mate, If not stick in Castrol edge 5w30 i think 0w 30 might be too thin for a 320d?!

While we're on the subject of Mobil 1, in France it costs half as much as it does in rip-off Britain, so it's worth grabbing some from the hypermarket if doing a booze cruise

BMW recommend the same oil for all their current Turbo Diesel engines Carl.

I always top-up both the 320d and 335d with Castrol Edge Turbo Diesel 0W30.

I've got a 325d. BMW LL04 is what you need. See my other thread here
