It sounds like a 12 amp vacuum is on under the hood as you accelerate under part throttle.

I kinda liked the sound of my hks rs intake on the old evo.
Nice sucking of air,,,,,,, and then bamnnnnnn,,, set back in the seat. Plus it added a nice bump in power. We need somthing like this and Im all over it. |

Check out the MSDS inc CAI... Sounds great, not as loud as Terry is describing probably because there is some plumbing but works and sounds really good...

Awesome job Terry. Glad you take the no fear approach to your car. Seems the stock parts were designed decently well to handle that kind of power. Just make sure your right rear axle doesnt snap when you put all that down with DR's and a sticky track.

Yeah I'd rather break something on my development car than have a customer break something. So far it holds together well, and it feels crazy fast right now for a 4-door sedan. I'm really impressed with the 335i.

There is an ongoing vented GF hood project to help the hot air coming out from the engine bay. Might be useful having cone filters under the hood.

Good Numbers Terry, . How does the car feel as far as daily driver with the cones, any extreme heat soak effects?

Awesome #'s Terry!
Interesting Dual-Cone setup, shows how restrictive the stock intake is. Can't wait to see what you run at the Track! For the street, have you thought about a slight variation of this design with perhaps dual intake pipes (if space allows) extending down to cooler air behind the drivers side lower grill?
