Not sure wether you are covered under warranty , but that sounds like a good outcome from an out of pocket $$$ point of view

Exactly what I was thinking also guys its great that its a cheap replacement part, but it sounds as though they have spent some time diagnosing this issue...

We all know that time = $ so it shall be interesting to see how this one pans out!

Well I picked my car up today from klosters bmw, and the culprit was apparently a engine mount bolt for the earth strap.

When I questioned what was wrong with the bolt, they tried to explain it had corroded due to the engine mounts being aluminium, but didn't provide a solid explanation (I'm wondering had it just worked loose?) but I guess it could have been worse.

Apparently this component wasn't covered under the BMW select warranty as it's a 'maintenance' item like a brake pad etc, so the bill was $370.

When I got back from picking the car up part of the bill had tow vehicle to dealer (I'm sure this was covered under bmw assist so unsure if they charged me for this) but the worse part was they replaced 3 blown globes @ $18 each which sucks as I have new tailights on the way anyhow and they were all working fine prior!

At the end of the day it could have been a lot worse, but its one expensive bolt!!

So it would be wise for you guys to order in a new bolt (I imagine would be $20 at most!) and replace it next time you're getting a service done!

Yeah I agree guys, considering the $ I have already spent on the car in terms of mods this isn't a great deal. Hopefully that's it for me in terms of car issues!

I can recall reading of a similiar issue once before, just cant recall for what car type it was with the engine mount bolt causing starting issues (may have been a MB w211...)

No major updates, but a few new purchases!

I wasn't intending to buy a LSD just yet, but this new in the box wavetrac popped up at a good price and since I have a bolted diff installation shall be pretty cheap. Whilst I would have preferred a quaife these things seem to have a good rep and tbh I'm not going to be flogging the pissers out of my car on the track every weekend so I'm sure it shall hold up fine.

Since it was initially ordered for non paying customer who had an AT the ratio from the MT 3.08 to the AT 3.46 shall be interesting

Also I couldn't help myself I bought another set of rims:

So I'm either going to sell the 313's or the M3 rims once I decide which ones I wish to retain!

This I disagree with. 313s look best stock with the machined/diamond cut finish.

To be honest I believe up front you will be fine, running a 245 rear I have heard of some guys being fine without it, otherwise you could roll them for about $100 or DIY and shave them with a belt sander which seems to be the preferred option in the JDM world these days.
