A nice chap, the first owner is pretty famous in the Pharma world. Will prob pay him a visit as its only down the road.

You have a legit reason to why it did naff all miles.... Some cars get involved in major shunts... Sit around etc. get fixed and that's why they did sod all miles one year etc. EDIT, I didn't mean damage from sitting around but been in an accident then say around for whatever reason waiting repair,

No "issue", just a degree of incomprehension as to why you considered it "awful" for me to have bought a car from a deceased's estate.
Not that I owe you any explanation, but it was only post purchase that I discovered that the former owner had died. Admittedly I had a momentary blip on the macabre side, but a good friend assured me that my qualms were groundless as the car was going to a good home. I'm perfectly happy to attribute any antagonism between ourselves to a simple misunderstanding and move on - you might care to let me have your thoughts... |

Happy to move on mate, I didn't think it was awful that you bought a dead persons car. I meant its awful that the person had died.

Surreal.
Anyway, Jon, how's the steering compared to the F10?

It still has that slight on-centre, electric detachment, but it's noticeably more positive and provides more feedback than the F10.
Factors which might affect this are that my 640i doesn't have AD and that it's on 20" wheels. To a lesser degree the steering wheel, being standard SE, has a slimmer rim than the M Sport version in the 535, which I didn't like it from day one. The wheel in my 640i feels far more tactile and, for me, makes driving far more pleasurable. I've driven the F12 with and without AD and I now prefer the latter, as there's negligible body roll - something I wouldn't have said about the F10 without AD. |

Aye, it's good. Had it 4 months already and no issues to report. Admittedly I've only done about 2k miles in it but it is a second car so never was going to get used much. Despite it's age it's probably in better condition than some of the new cars I've had . I do have moments of thinking about getting rid of it for no reason other than I'm a car tart and just want to try something different. I usually change my mind every time I drive it and get to hear the engine at full chat (the sound generator on the car is a stroke of genius).
The car has proved a good hobby which is partly why I bought it. Done a few little mods, nothing engine wise as it seems there's no point with that engine. BHP gain per £ is crap. I'm thinking about a full suspension overhaul over the winter........ or maybe I'll get something else :roll eyes: Sorry for the thread jack Jon. It would be rude not to answer the question. |

Stunning car Jon,you must be thrilled to bits with that, wheels are arguably the nicest OEM rims I've seen in a while
With that amount of discount,I'd have no problem getting a shovel out
