Replica or factory M-sport bumper kits

I noticed ECS tuning has both the factory and replica M-sport bumper conversions for the E93 335i. Anyone have experience with either of these kits(or other kits)? Is the factory one really worth twice as much? Thx.

I am assuming the Factory is Urethane, and the reps are Fiberglass. Quality and durability of Fiberglass is generally shit. Urethane holds shape and will always look fantastic. Plus fitment will be perfect for OEM.

common bumpers (m3 rep, 1m, m sport) are now usually polypropylene now and have great fitment and durability.

if you aim for rare design bumpers like arkym then they're usually fibreglass...

This one is tempting: http://www.ebay.com/itm/401094092594...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

But I am really liking the add on front spoiler and M3 sides look, also.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/301569202035...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

and

http://www.ebay.com/itm/271863847043...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I also like that I can get these pre-painted(car doesn't need a new paint job yet...).

If you don't mind me asking, what is the driver for the desire to change so soon? Thx.

Try looking for used bumpers. I actually found a good deal on a used OEM M-Sport LCI front bumper for 140$ + shipping. unpainted with a few easily fixable scratches. In the market now for an M3 rep rear and going to the paint shop

the lip does make the car look nicer but is still not aggressive enough and looks plain when parked beside an m sport.

i just ordered a 1M bumper which will arrive next week

Thx. I don't prefer the M-Sport because it looks "misaligned". I like the stock lines and I like the M3 rep because it has better "lines" IMO.

So, you think the quality and fitment of the add on was good?

Wish we were closer...I would have considered buying your old bumper since it is space grey!

bumper COVERS are never fiberglass.

All newer cars have bumper covers made of a variety of plastics. The most common are PP (Polypropylene), various versions of Urethane composites, and TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin) although there are many more that are also used.

I bought my replica off eBay. Fitment is perfect.

mate go for the M3 rep if you like it!
that was also my choice before but the fog lights are a little bit marmite.

for the lip add on, you can buy it painted off ebay and just install by yourself. saves a lot of trouble.

If you end up deciding to get the aero lip, I would suggest getting the OEM aero lip 'cause it will sit more properly and look much more cleaner than the reps.
