Service guy?! Does he have any idea what he's talking about? The sensonr in the windshield is for rain sensing only. It has nothing to do with sensing light. The rain sensor can think it's cloudy all it wants. As long as it doesn't friggen rain.

Your sensors for auto headlight dimming are located behind your rear view mirror AFAIK. These should have nothing to do with your low beams being on when used as DRLs though. When in auto, DRLs are permanently on and in your case, so are your lows.

Just get it coded out. There's no option to change it in iDrive. Not worth stressing and trying to work out what the problem is when you know how to fix it.

Are all the features in this app also available with a JB4 or are they complementary?

Can it do more than what's possible with JB4?

Not sure what you mean. Both can read codes, but apart from that they are completely separate and do different things.

Yeah I was wondering if the JB4 can do all of this coding, so if you have JB4 you won't require this app.
From what you're saying: Even if I did buy a JB4 to do this much coding then I would still need to purchase this also. Correct?

I think he means diagnosis. JB4 reads and clears fault codes as does BMWhat. BMWhat codes the configuration settings like lights, for folding mirrors etc, which JB4 cannot do.

Thanks for that.
But it seems like we are not able to make the "home light" activated automatically until we activate the flasher...

I am trying to find a way to make it "on" automatically once the engine is switched off. (similar function like Mercedes Benz)
The C200 at my home, once i switched off the car, the headlight remains "on" for a certain time and switched off automatically...similar function as the "home light" but it activates by itself.

I tried looking but could not find it:
Is this able to code away the Accept message on iDrive and enable TV/DVD without the handbrake?

Don't think it can do that, i've looked. Would be great if it did. Perhaps if we all email them they might add it.

I can confirm it works on Kitkat. I havent read any compatibility issues with Android so think most versions would be fine.

You have to pay for an in-app once off purchase to register the battery. Pretty dodgy

haha not really. if you consider a one off visit to an indie dealer so they can code it for you could start anywhere from $50 onwards. Yes you pay $70-80 for the app once but you can help your mates code shit or even go halvies with them. Remember the app is constantly updated and is not restricted to 1 VIN or any particular model. their model list is very extensive. Diagnostic tool is very well detailed as ive been using this app for a while. App and cable can all be purchased for less than $100. Happy coding
