I would consider diesel, but can't stand the sound.

That's odd: the Euro e46 M3 produced 343hp.

Paul330d , Do you have particle filter in your car? I would really like to remap my 330d , but particle filter makes little bit problems for that.

Yes, the PF is standard fit on the 330d here in France. I was assured there are no problems with remapping, other than 5 or 6 hp less. I was persuaded to go to Kempower by one of your compatriots on the e60 forum. He drove all the way down from Finland to get his 530d remapped, so they must be good

Do you know how they solve the problem with exhaust temperature/pressure?
I got same information from Breyton and Schnitzer that their engineers still searching a solution for that problem. They said that those exhaust temp and pressure are already so high that taking more power out from that 330d engine with PF is very difficult and also risky. I have heard that many engines/particle filters has "burned" after remapping.

By the way that Finnish guy who drove from here to Kempower, in his car dont exist PF what makes that remapping difficult.

This may be an issue, I honestly don't know. I'm not too worried, however, because TBH I very rarely use all the power I have at my disposal. I would think that overheating could be a genuine concern for those who 'mistreat' their cars and drive around in Sport mode all the time to extract maximum power, but I can't see how my PF would be adversely affected, as I probably only use about 150hp 99% of the time

Wow, that sounds very impressive! So much power at the wheels; those guys at kempower must have done a very good job

I would love to feel the difference between my remap (DMS) and yours! Good luck with burning your michelins

By the way, a totally different question. Do you also experience that the right hand exhaust pipe on your 330d gets much more "dirty" than the left one? In my case the left is spotless, but the right one is getting black

Any opinions/explanations from fellow 330d owners?

Hendrik

Lol; yes I have noticed that - I thought it was just my car I use alloy wheel cleaner to get the yellow/brown stains off the bottom of the pipe.

Factory power isn't 231HP at the wheels but engine power... so now it's 283 HP power engine, and it's a lot...
Your PF will be out of service in 50 000 kilometers

PS: when I'm looking to your Dyno, the red line is folowing too perfectly the black line to be real...

you mean 283 bhp at the flywheel right?

because 283bhp at the wheels would be something like 350bhp at the flywheel!

Congratulations anyhow mate, bet its a different beast now. Is she auto or manual?

notice any extra excess smoke from the exhaust?

thanks

Carl.

Also the times posted 0-60 in 6 sec? for a standard (stock) 330d???????????

The guy who did my remap told me it was at the wheels (hence the pre-remap drop on the stock 231hp) and that it equated with approx. 315hp at the flywheel. There's no way I can check these figures, of course. Stock 330d Steptronic is 6.8 seconds 0-60. I estimate this is now down to about 6 seconds dead after the remap.

In my opinion those numbers must be flywheel numbers, no doubt.

Anyway thats very impressive and the car must go FAST

My 325d is 22 hp shy but I have the same torque, guess my engine is a little tight, another 325d got very close to those numbers, and the 330d as well.

Actually the 330d for some reason seems to get around 10 hp more than the 325d acording to ESStuning.

Kempower says 285 flywheel horsepower and 610 NM for a tuned 330d, so its definitely flywheel power.

The autobox explains why the car is a little below rated power originally, with a manual, it would have measured a little higher than 231 hp.

The burning cycle for the PF just needs to be altered, then its fine. Not many tuners know how.
