Washer fluid warning...

Ah, the little things!

In the two months I've had my car, I have been politely asked to replenish the washer reservoir twice. On both occasions, she has required barely two litres.

Two litres out of the 6.3 (?) litre tank means the message is triggered while still 2/3 full.

I also have bi-xenons, thus headlight washers, and use the washer every 2-3 days at the very most. So that's 500ml of fluid in 3-4 washes or 120-150ml a wash.

Does that tally with others' experiences?

I take it that there are no large puddles of water under the car when it has been sitting at home for a while

I fill approx 4L when the warning lights come on.

Thanks remmib - yours allows 2 litres in reserve, mine 4 litres! Is it because of the Xenons I wonder?

And no, no puddles anywhere.....

I just top mine up when I wash the car, just stick the hose into the filler point and wait for it to overflow.

Does yours warn you rather early also?

I use my wipers quite a bit and seem to get alot of use out of them, if I was to guess about 30-50 washes at least and I am generous on the water

Occasionally I get a warning, but normally I wash the car every week so I keep it topped up pretty well.

just turn your lights off before wiping your windshields, should cut down on some windshield fluid usage.

My headlights still get washed even with the lights off, but then again I leave them on "Auto" so not sure what it does if I have them OFF
