OCDetailing Detailed: Trashed Black 2005 Porsche Carrera S

Hey,

Sorry I have not posted in a while. Things have been a little hectic the past week.

Anyways so the past couple of days I spent my time at the Porsche dealership on a trade in that was in horrendous condition. It was my first detail at that dealership and the people there were great. Although it was disappointing that someone would treat a car, any car the way the previous owner treated this beauty.

During the inspection stage the roof and rear hatch had particularly low paint reading and was hit with the PC DA with a much less aggresive combination.

Please excuse some of the untouched wheel wells. The car was washed and sat in the bay. I did a quick ONR on the paintwork and went at it.

Whoops one last thing. I was only to address the paintwork at the request of the client.

Anyways enough of my babbling.

Enjoy,
Nick

Beautiful work. Was the dealer happy to pay your price? What did they think of the job?
It has been my experience in different endeavors that dealers want to charge the max and pay the least.

Dealers are never happy to pay something they don't think they need but in this case they knew they needed it.

From what I understood, they loved the job. Sometimes they play hard ball. They'll love it just enough to say I don't want to pay that much but hate it if it's a bad job. However I had a very positive experience with the dealership. Great focused management at that location.

I definitely appreciate that comment. I am sure there are a couple in the SF area that are good at what they do

It absolutely blows my mind that some people will go out and purchase a beautiful car only to neglect it.

Beautiful detail!

It a 3 step polish although a couple of scratch spots I did do four. 11 hours the first day non stop , no breaks but it was fun. Second day I did 8 hours non stop no breaks.

Nikku, GREAT JOB man. Brought that poor thing back to life.. Don't know what's up with a lot of Porsche owners, everyone I see is kinda thrashed badly.

Big thumbs up. Beautiful work and a beautiful car.

I've always wondered how you guys polish in and around areas like the door handle. This one you clearly polished. Do you just put some SIP or 106FF on a foam applicator and polish those spots by hand? Luckily, I've never had to do that.

I wanted to cry when I saw some of the "before" pictures. My guess is the guy was "babying" his car by bringing it to the car wash every week or every time he drove it.

Not that it mattered in this case, but if you had been hired by a guy who handed you the keys to that car, would you give him some pro-bono cleaning advice? Like "DO THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT YOU ARE CURRENTLY DOING!" ?

When you hand them the bill and they complain (if they do) put it in their perspective language. Personally, the before pictured vehicle is worth $2500-5000 LESS than the after vehicle, just as I walk up to it on a lot.
