Warranty on parts replaced under warranty?

I had my urea tank replaced under platinum extended warranty about six months and less than 5k miles ago. Got the SES light and 999 miles until no start last week. Took it in to find my extended warranty expired January 4.

SA said urea pump is bad. It is integral to the tank, so the 6 month old tank needs to be replaced again.

SA said that parts replaced under warranty do not carry an independent warranty but will only be warrantied until the expiration of the extended warranty on the car. This does not sound right to me.

He kicked it up to his manager and his manager kicked it up to the regional manager to "see what they could do for me." Still awaiting a reply from regional manager.

Anybody know anything about this?

IIRC ...or 24 months whichever is longer.

Edit. Just checked. Yep- two years regardless of mileage. (Excluding 'worn' parts I.e. Brake pads)

It's right on BMW USA website under "warranties"

I browsed and searched BMW's website, but could not find the information.
The only choice I have when I click on "warranty information" is to choose my model and download a warranty/service booklet.

I still await a call back from my SA. I'd love to be armed with something in writing.
I checked my invoice for the tank replacement 6 mo ago. Nothing about warranty for the work performed.

Thank you!

You are a gentleman and a scholar!

I hope it won't matter, but I cannot find a corollary on BMW USA website. (wrings hands)

Turned out that they hooked up two lines backwards when they installed the tank six months ago which caused the pump to inject excess DEF. Tank was empty causing SES light and 999 mi to no start.

They fixed it gratis. Picking it up tomorrow.

Time to delete alphabet soup, methinks.
