335i JB4 owners
Took my mates 62 plate M5 out for a spin today [with him as a passenger ] and to be honest was not overly impressed. Interior is just amazing, the new command menu tells you everything you want to know from oil level to tyre pressures, amazing car in that sense.
Just didnt feel that quick! Now that is going to sound strange i know but, it didnt. He even thought the same when he came out and drove the 335i. Hard to explain but, i guess its just that the M5 kind of shields you from the power at your command. Bit like i felt when i came from the FBO Focus ST i guess. Anyone else driven one? Did you feel the same way?

Big cars mask the speed.
The F10 has proven figures of 0-100mph in 9.0secs. I have seen guys on here post vmax figures of 0-100mph of about 10secs with modified 335i. |

I read somewhere that the 0-100mph time is 7.8 secs. Which is really rather fast and regardless of weight, big car detachment arguements etc. etc. you would notice!!
Is there still an M button to deliver the full fat power- like on the e60 M5? Wonder if you were driving in low power mode!

Same question do they still have the M mode? This makes a 100hp difference on the E60 I can imagine its an even bigger difference on the twin turbo v8

It is a very quick car. But it is large.
The E60 is a ballistic car an feels it. The F10 I have not been out in, but it should feel properly quick.

I have been in an F10 M5 and I agree it doesn't feel that fast BUT... It is the massive torque and relatively low volume of it. It just turns the dial effortlessly and you just sit there shrugging your shoulders like nothing is happening untill you look at the speedo and realise that you are travelling through time!
Try sitting in it and not supporting your head properly, let your head flop back a bit as it accellerates. You will need to take a neck brace with you for the resulting injury. |
