Excuse my ignorance, but do you snow foam, rinse then shampoo?
I understand the concept of the snow foam as the bloke who detailed my car explained it all.............actually t'other half has a power washer and the bottle. Might give it a go. |

the foam lifts away the dirt so that by the time you get to the contact wash stage, ie mitt/sponge most of the scratch inducing muck is already off the surface.... |

DO NOT BUY THE GILMORE. They are crap, the autobrite ones pretty good but go for the one with the bigger bottle.

I have an autobrite foam lance. Great little thing. Good service from the guys as well.
Can't see that I'll ever use a drive through car wash again. I do the following: 1. Jet wash with clean water 2. Snow foam and leave to soak while you have a nice cup of tea 3. Jet wash with clean water 4. Snow foam again and leave to soak 5. Rub down with wash mit to make sure snow foam has covered everything. 6. Jet wash 7. Dry 8. Cup of tea to warm up. I had my car machine polished a couple of months ago and the detailed applied some dodo wax. I've topped that off with 'blackfire all finish paint protection' and it's holding up really well. I washed the car last Thursday and it's still got a really deep gloss finish. Definitely get a foam lance: |

I drive about a million miles a week so mine gets washed every week. I would do it more often but I am out the house at 6.30 and home at 7-7.30 in the evening so I don't have time.
My routine is: 1. soak the wheels in megs wheel brightner, jet wash off, clean the wheels inside and out. 2. Rinse the crud off the car with the jet wash, cleen the arches, de grease, clean again. 3. snow foam the car, make a coffee 4. rinse car off 5. Wash car using the 2 bucket method 6. rinse off and apply AG autogloss rinse 7. Rinse car off with hose (no spray head attachement) 8. Dry car off 9. Clean interior, quick hoover and dust. 10. Wash the wifes car - repeat above. Although last weekend if was so cold that the water was freezing solid it was so cold. J. |

What I love about car waxing is that, you think you've mastered it then comes another guy who makes yours look dull.. theres always , always more guns to buy and better waxes, to be honest I'm feeling well pissed off now and will go and clean mine up now.
My aim is blind oncomming traffice with a really deep shine and no headlights thats how shiny i want it.

The gilmores are ok and just used via hose pressure. If you want the shaving foam look the buy a lance as these are used via pressure washes.
