Sydney - Wollongong Drive Sunday 9th March
For those interested, this is the plan for Sunday 9th March.
Meet at 9:30am for 10:00am departure at: Krispy Creme Car Park - Mascot 7 Ross Smith Avenue, near Joyce Drive and Sir Reginald Ansett Drive, Mascot, NSW 2020 Taking Sir Bertram Stevens Drive/Lady Wakehurst Drive through the National Park to Otford Road and first stop at Lawrence Hargrave Memorial car park (on Otford Road) Then along Lawrence Hargrave Drive and the coast joining Princess Highway in Wollongong. Through Wollongong onto the Southern Freeway to the Illawarra Highway, through the twisties on Macqauarie Pass and stopping at the Robertson Pie Shop for Lunch: http://www.thesouthernhighlands.com....rtson-pie-shop So far: approx 140 km Then back along Macqauarie Pass into Wollongong for a stop at the lighthouse: http://www.lighthouse.net.au/lIGhtS/...ong%20Head.htm Then, if time and enthusiasm permit, up around Lake Cataract, back along the coast, through the National Park again and home. The Cataract detour adds about 40km to the route back. Maps and (overly) detailed directions attached: |

Looks like fun, count me in.
I like the choice of waiting spot, i always stop there (thankfully don't eat there, though) whilst i wait for family & friends arriving domestically before picking them up from the gate.

Excellent. I don't want to take credit for the meeting point. Ninja333 suggested it in the other thread.

Nope, hence the reason I can't make this drive... I don't physically have time to get there, would take me about 1.5 hours

This could be the last weekend that I'll have the Z4 (I'm changing to a 135i). I was planning on taking the car for spin so I might tag along.

So far, I count 6 takers (BMW //MPOWER, Ninja333, BLOWN, WOPALX, spdrcr, GeriFix) from this thread. Any others?
There is an $11 vehicle entry charge for the National Park, so bring some cash: http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/an...eEntryFees.htm The toll booth stop will probably string the group out a little, so we will also make a brief stop at the Car Park in Audley (just after we cross the river) to regroup. Weather for Sunday is looking good. Morning clouds giving way to a temp of 27 degrees: http://www.weather.com.au/nsw/sydney |

I'm still up for the drive, car is in for service on Friday so hopefully nothing delays it's return.
I'll throw the V2 back in on Saturday & I also received my Forge DV's so they will get installed at the same time. So I'll need to do a few 3rd gear pulls to get the TQ values sorted (and national parks are always good for that). |
