How much did you pay for paint and installation for E90 M-tech kit in L.A.?
I called Advanced Collusion Technologies, Southbay BMW's certified bodyshop for a quote on paint and installation for the M-tech body kit, and he told me just paint alone will be a couple grand !!@$%^%
And installation could be another couple of grand.. (*&^%$%^& He went on and explain that he needs to color match everything (potentially the hood, fender) and of the kit dont fit right, he'll need to order new fenders etc. to make everything fit right. Which means in order for me to get a factory quality M-tech kit, I'll be spending anywhere from 5 to 10 thousand dollars. How much did you pay to get the M-tech kit painted? Where did you get your M-tech kit painted (if possible, please include address and phone number)? Did they do a good job? How much was installation on the M-tech kit? Were there additional parts necessary to do the installation? How much did the additonal parts cost total? Thanks in advance! |

hahhahah, no way---they are Kaaaaraaazy! Contact Longtran...he can do it for you, much less! You are in LA...so should be easy to get hooked up!
He can order the parts, get it painted, and even do install for you. $$5-10K... Go here if you want to see my car. I got the kit from Long, he got it painted for me, and he helped me install. Tell him you are interested in picking one up, easily can do it all for under $3K! http://www.socale90.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104 Also...check here. He pretty much did all of these... http://www.socale90.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139

And....you can put the Mtech kit on a lease. Its all OEM, so you can turn it back in with it! It depends on how long your lease is...and how much $$ is too much for you to put into the car.

Thats wild, my local dealer and official BMW bodyshop here quoted me CAD$3250 for the kit, painted and installed which I already thought was a bit steep.

Either way i think you should post a pic of yourself. There has been confusion lately with some people's identities and we just need to confirm you're a girl. Thanks!

why would these guys need a couple of thou to install it?
This is a collection of replacement OEM parts that will bolt straight on - it's not some hideous 3rd party glass fibre kit that will need trial fitting, filling sanding, re-fitting, re-filling, re-sanding etc etc. I would imagine a competant bodyshop could install the kit in a matter of hours - it's going to be no different to removing and re-fitting what's already there. As for replacement fenders etc, who are they trying to kid?? Walk away man, find yourself an outfit that understands what the job entails, because these guys clearly think they're about to build something for "The Fast and the Furious".

YAY! Your car is gonna look so good ! With the new white angel eye, new M-tech rear bumper and all I need to save up for that kit... or come up with some deductions so uncle same can give me back some of that money. Is the official M-tech kit ABS plastic? I hope it is... I'm surrounded by people that can't wait to test out the durability of my bumper |

magmd, based on the first photo I think you need to lower your hood bumpstop a tiny bit on the passenger side to make it even. I had to do the same with mine.

i used to work for 20/20 out in city of industry and the ONLY!!! reason why fenders and hood got painted to match color was when the car was more than a few years old. when the car is brand new you can just order the exact paint and it will already match but when the car is older it wont because the paint on the car has been faded slightly. it seems like this guy is just trying to make money off of you.

I know...that is why I can't get rid of that bumper! I thought I might sell it after getting the new Mtech, but I can't stop staring at it!!!
