12.3L/100km, and yes, I redline to 7k on a daily basis just to keep the engine fresh.

But what is the closest people here have come to 12 L / 100 km's in the city? I'm getting 16!

Does the car use more gas during the break-in period also?

EDIT: I only have 100 kilometers on the car right now!
I'm getting 12.2 but thats on a bad HPFP so that might be affectingit
(I drive it very hard)

12.1 currently on my e92 328 in M mode, shifting around 2k-2.5k and using 6th as much as I can. If I go full auto, it's in the low to mid-13's. If I get tired of driving like a granny (usually after getting cut off or almost getting crashed into for the nth time in a day), it can hit almost 14. LOL. This is 100% city. Vancouver traffic sucks.

I've got 1700 km on mine and have never got less that 16. Are these all automatics that are getting these great numbers???

08 335i MT keep getting 11.8L/km since day 1. Car is 4mth old with 7500km on the clock and 90% city and at least 140km/hr when on highway.

But with what kind of driving? I dare say that's impossible in the city when BMW's own numbers are 12L / 100?!

Update: After a week of driving "normally", I've got 11.8 at time of fill-up. Official figure is 11.3 in the city for the auto (11.7 for manual). I think it's definitely doable but only with a light foot. I, OTOH, sometimes can't help myself when it's late and there's a clear stretch of road (to clean out the carbon deposits ...)
