Need Exhaust Advice

First, I'll give a little background. Car is a E92 auto 335i and is stock aside from the new Eisenmann Race exhaust that was just installed. This is the "new" Eisenmann as opposed to the notorious E-race, which is the "old" version. This new version has been tamed down, and in my opinion... way too much to be considered a "race" exhaust by any means.

So my problem is the exhaust is too tame. I am wondering what I can do to make it a little more louder, but nothing drastic. My first thought was to get catless DPs, but after doing more research I'm not sure if this will solve my problem. Also considered a secondary cat-delete. At this point, the more research I do, the more indecisive I can get so can you guys give me some advice on how to make my car some a bit more aggressive. I don't want it to sound cheap or over-bearingly loud, but it is almost as quiet as stock now. From inside the car, the volume is almost identical.

Midpipes without a question. Cost effective and will give you EXACTLY what you're looking for, a more aggressive and rich tone. There are multiple options, personally i've been extremely happy with the Berk resonated mids. Downpipes will add some tone+rasp, but IMO midpipes are the way to go if sound is your primary concern.

How much will midpipes affect the volume of the exhaust? Also, the reason I was leaning toward DPs is because I might tune in the future and if I tune I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone by getting DPs because I would a) get the added volume and b) get the performance benefits when coupled with a tune.

sell eisenmann race, get downpipes tune intake anything you want with that crazy amount of money.

downpipes will make it louder than stock but you will barely notice it unless you go WOT. makes it a bit deeper too.

I can't really quantify how much louder it made my car, all I can say is that adding decent midpipes really opened up the exhaust tone in terms of volume and richness. If you're getting tuned then downpipes are a no brainer, assuming you don't mind the emissions and/or warranty issues that can arise. From what I can ascertain DPs aren't really a big sound adder, it's more rasp and a bit of volume.

Midpipe doesn't do that much to sound since e92 midpipe already has x-pipe on it instead of resonator (e90/135i).
Downpipe will make most noticeable volume change to your current exhaust setup. However, I think your eisenmann race may drone quite bit with catless downpipe.

Wow if that's true then downpipes are probably the better option, I was completely unaware that the E92 mids were different than other N54s.

The E90's have a resonator, where the E92/93 cars have an X-pipe. For not a lot of $$$, the secondary cats could be cut out and replaced with straight pipe for some more sound.

Are there any drawbacks to deleting the secondary cats? I really don't want to sell the exhaust because it has a great sound/tone to it and I think there are some ways I can keep the sound how it is and just make it louder. From the outside it sounded good; however, I just want it to be louder to me driving.

Different exhaust and get down pipes. Although that exhaust you have now is top notch, it sucks that it doesn't sound like the old one.

I want to keep the exhaust on. I'm not looking for major differences in volume, I just want some more "umph". I think I'll probably go the DP route and see what that's like and then maybe delete 2nd cats.

After doing some thinking, I might be looking to sell this exhaust and find a different one. Is it possible to have a decently loud cat-back exhaust on these cars without doing a muffler delete?

Also if anyone has any suggestion for a new exhaust I am all ears... only requirement is that is can fit a stock bumper.

HUGE difference. In a couple weeks I ll record some vids with my new Hero3 Black Edition. Too freaking cold outside right now

Maybe try to find someone local with the PE to check it out? Most find it hard to believe an OEM part can sound so loud lol

Of course it won't be as loud as the old Eisenmann Race or HPF strait pipes. But those setups are beyond good and evil in my book.
