Difference between OEM suspension and OEM sport suspension?

I recently took my H&R springs off my 325 because I could not handle the harsh ride any longer. So I opted to trade any willing soul with me for stock sport springs in an effort to keep my car with the lowered performance look. I even purchased the lowering purches to ensure that the vehicle wasn't looking like a lifted BMW after the swap.

The problem is, the car still looks like a lifted BMW with the sport springs and purches. Is this because the struts may be different lengths? If so, should I also pick up some sport struts to lower the front end a bit?

Thanks!

sounds like you got sports springs from a 335i maybe. The 335i is a few hundred pounds heavier than the 325i, and has taller springs to compensate. Also, the springs may settle a small amount after a couple of days.

Funny thing is, I got the springs from a 328 (same year). I was just thinking that maybe the platform that the actual spring sits on may be higher or lower, depending on the option. I know that the sport and regular struts have different part numbers.

struts/shocks have no affect on ride height. Springs are the main component when dealing with ride height (and perches also). I would look into another spring option if i were you.

Do you remember the code that was on the spring? There should have been a little white tab with something like "D7" or another number printed on it.

springs are different by chassis, and also by the engine and transmission combination.
