Accidents and Mods

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can answer this. Let's say you get into an accident that is not your fault. For example you get rear ended and you have an expensive aftermarket mod like the 3d cf diffuser. Will the other party's insurance company pay for aftermarket mods?

Thanks.

yes, they are responsible for putting your car back to condition before accident. Now if its an accident where you are at fault, it depends if you have the extra coverage for the mods on your car. They automatically allow for 1500.00 with most insurance companies.

Say I didn't have the extra coverages for the mods, and I'm not at fault, will the other party insurance will need to look into your policy to see if I have the extra coverages? Or regardless the other party insurance must fix the car with the mods?

Regardless if you have coverage on your account or not. If the other party has insurance they should be responsible to cover all damage. That includes aftermarket parts. If the other party's insurance company doesn't cover it then you you have to contact your insurance company to fight for the money.
