New F30

Well its growing on me, just saw a new F30 in white (not sure) but with xenons and with the white rings (white then on LCI E92) it does look mean.

Cant wait for M Sport version and once the estate is out might actual jump

M Sport will help a lot as does seeing a few and becoming more familiar. Also looking forward to seeing M Sport Touring although saw a very nice E CLass estate today that looked great.

I was going to wait for the F30 touring, but in the end realised that a 330d M-Sport, which would be the minimum I would want would be over £45,000.
That just seems madness to me, for a 3 series.

I am going down to 1 car, and had to make a decision whether to stick with BMW or go to Merc, and as much as I wanted to still have a BMW after 15 years in them, with only one car on the drive it had to be Mercedes. Will be weird not having a BMW of some sort.

Saw my first one on Holland, but it had UK plates. I like it

Gone off 3-series size-wise, so thinking of for next car 5-series, Audi A7 or, slurp slurp... 640d GC.

Top Gear U.K. co-host Richard Hammond took the all-new BMW 3 Series Sedan for a spin and his final judgement was eye-opening: "This may be the best car ever built." To him no one vehicle gives you the best of all worlds like the BMW.

Well, the F10 is superbly engineered.

I would expect no less.

I'm contemplating a loaded 125i F20 M sport myself.... its pretty bloody nice inside.

He is quoting a 0-62 for the 320d of 7.7 secs. Its quicker than that at 7.5 manual and 7.6 auto.
However, just looking at E90 figures and its no quicker than the E90 320d even though it supposed to weigh less.

I recently had a 328i out for a spin. On paper it's slower than my 535d, but it feels significantly quicker owing to it's smaller size and high revving engine - in sport mode the shift points were between 6 and 6.5k RPM.
I did about 80 miles of mixed driving - dual carriageway, town and twisty country roads. The latter comprised the majority and I really went for it - very impressive performance and much better steering than my F10 plus 37mpg.
But, what a disappointing quality drop on the interior - plastic sun visors and switchgear you don't expect to find in a £40k car.

I think this is worth a watch. Gives a very good real world demo of the car especially the interior. I really like the around the speedo area - looks so much better than the E90. Also shows the kind of spec we can expect on a F30. Rear camera looks very cool - even your missus should not fail to park properly now .

I read some excellent financial advice on the 1 series forum, thank you for posting that.

Still looking to run the 1er here and a C250 or similar once the company barge is up for replacment next year.

I test drove the F30 335i last week and was not overly impressed - very light steering and noticeable body roll were the bad points.
They do seem to have sorted the ride on run flats although the car i drove was on 18's and without M Sport suspension.

My impression was that my old E90 335i M sport felt better to drive although (my perception may be skewed after driving M3's for a couple of years) i will reserve final judgement until i have driven the F30 M sport with adaptive dampers - i hope i like it as i need a bigger car - a 335 M Sport touring or X5 is looking likely.

Really like the look of the new 1 Series, just waiting to see what the 3 door version looks like and the coupe, really wanted a 120d Coupe and saw one I liked with 1k on the clock but the dealer couldn't give the price I wanted in P/X and bought a 318d instead.

Well I was in my first F30 last week, went to my local dealer and sat in a few and I have to say my opinion hasn't changed.

Wouldn't even want to test drive one as purely on looks and interior layout I wouldn't want to purchase one.

On a positive note they did have a stunning 6 series on display which still had a very good lease deal available.

Garage List
I'm really not sure about them, but then I really wasn't a fan of the E90 when it first came out... now I own one

They do seem to grow on you...
