Things to do near Denver, CO

I will be visiting for business on Tuesday but flying in on Monday. I will be lodging in the beautiful town of Greeley, CO but was there anything that I should see on Monday? I have never been to this area and who knows when I will ever be back. Nothing that will take up hours but maybe a cool shopping strip or something to that extent. I also LOVE thai food so if anyone can recommend a traditional thai restaurant would be great. Thanks!

Judging by your screen name, you should take advantage of the culture here in Colorado and indulge near the bottom of the 4pm hour.

Greeley is not terribly exciting, but you'll be fairly close to Fort Collins if you are into beer. You can taste test at New Belgium and Odells and possibly hop on a tour. There are numerous Thai restaurants around Denver as well. Swing Thai and Thai Basil come to mind.

Ha, I am not an avid partaker of what you think my screen name involves. My first name in Chinese is pronounced 'Bong', hahaha.

Ha, I was joking about Greeley. Figured Greeley was not going to be too exciting although there seems to be a college right in Greeley.

Beer tasting sounds kind of fun. How's the weather out there? Wouldn't mind sitting outside a pub and having some beers and people watch, hahaha.

I will definitely check out those Thai places as long as it's easy to get to. Thanks and keep the suggestions coming.

haha, in that case definitely hit up Ft Collins and New Belgium brewery. Weather will be warm but low humidity. If you can find shade it is always perfect.

You should go to Bruce's Bar in Severance, about 15 minutes west of Greeley. Get the Black Hills Oysters. Trust me. but no, really, they are really good. Dont knock em till you try em.

Other then that there is not much to do up here. Ive lived within about 20 minutes of Greeley for most of my life and I dont spend much time over there (except when I was in college there).

Budweiser brewery (north Fort Collins) might be open on Sunday. You cant miss it from the road. Take I-25 north and then take the Mtn Vista exit.

The Good Guys Car show is going on at the Ranch here in Loveland (about 15 minutes west of Greeley). Lots of muscle cars around my house today (I live about 4 miles away from the car show)

Hang outside the pickle barrel in fort Collins. Amazing food, stiff drinks, and people watching.

That place is awesome. My wife went to CSU and whenever we go up there, it is a must visit.

If you're bored enough/have enough time, I'd recommend either driving into the mountains as far as you feel like going, and/or driving down to Boulder and walking around the Pearl Street Mall.

Let me give you the truth, Greeley smells and looks like horse shit. If you can, just come down to Denver and check out the 16th street mall downtown.

I didn't realize Greeley Is over an hour away from Denver so I didn't end up going into town. I spent all day in horse shit smelling Greeley. People are very nice though and ate at Pho Duy. Pretty good. Also got a chance to workout at anytime fitness....small but does the job.
