XI Newbie Suspension Questions Here - Thanks in Advance!
Ok - I just got a 2006 330xi with 128k on it and it needs some front suspension work done. The dealer just replaced the lower control arms and it is still clunking / rattling in the front left -- The dealer is looking into that now. But my question is -- what are my best "sport suspension" options? Not going to the track just spirited driving around town. How about one of these 335i Sport package suspension? withh they work on my xi? Most likely I am looking for Springs and Struts/Shocks - or just shocks. Any nothing crazy hard or low -- just some bilstein sports would be great -- but if I could save some $$$ by buying somebody's used OEM stuff that would be great. Any and all help/advice is apreciated. -- Also looking for a reasonably price shop to do it in SoCal. Thanks David |

i dont even think blisten makes shocks for the XI
I'd just get some H&R coilovers and be done with it. |

should check out the XI forums and you'll realize you don't have too many options unfortunately. you can either go with just springs (h&r/eibach/Tein) and stock shocks or go full coilovers (KW/H&R/Tein).
Bilstein currently doesn't sell the B6/B8 shocks in NA as of yet, but they do sell them in Europe. You can use the rear oem sport suspension off an "I" but you'll have to retain the front XI shocks. The Dinan suspension upgrage for XI follows this methodology, but good luck finding someone who will just part out their rear zsp shocks. Last edited by MMOTION; 08-21-2009 at 02:01 PM.. |

Got the KW Varient 1's installed on my XI today
Rides real nice -- but obviously I need some time to give it a true evaluation.
Opinions on the height? (42yr old father of 3) |
