Signed up! I can't wait lol, and even if it is me and you we will have fun taking pics and everyone who didn't go will be so jealous :P

BTW if anyone has a DSLR they will let me use that would be pretty sweet....if I can figure out how to use it.

I'm also thinking more and wondering if taking sunset photos by the causeways would be even better, but I think that Fort De Soto is a much better "meet area" and with a shutter if we end up at the causeways even around 6pm we might still catch some color. We could always go to the causeways for sunset on Friday or Sunday, I know I will so we will play i by ear. Swap some numbers when it gets closer.

Can't wait to meet you all.

Sounds good. I'm guessing the BBQ idea at Ft. DeSoto probably needs more planning and commitment if people want to do that, but since we'd be going there after Guppy's will we have much of an appetite that soon?

Maybe we can throw a quick Starbucks stop somewhere in there if we need something to snack on. There'll probably be a stop at a gas station in case anyone needs to fill up so that's another snack opportunity.

I got a simple Canon PowerShot A85. I got it thinking it would be enough for me, which it is for the most part, but I'm disappointed with the zoom on it although I don't take many photos. My older bro has a Canon too, but it's a higher end model and the zoom on it is amazing but it's bulkier than the one I got. He takes tons of photos

I just got back from watching Casino Royale

LONG. I really enjoyed it. I heard it's based off the first Bond book, and it gets into how he becomes 007 (not too deeply though). That Aston Martin looked sweeeet, poor thing! The action scenes were done well with lots of cool stunts. The story was great with a few twists (I saw the main twist coming but oh well).

Now Daniel Craig as the new Bond and how he plays the character... I really liked Pierce Brosnan, but Daniel Craig plays the cold act pretty well and it just gives a new dimension to Bond than I felt with Brosnan. He's more of a tough guy than Brosnan was... sure Brosnan had a lot of action but he seems so refined compared to Craig who comes off as more raw. They both fit the character well, but seeing the tough guy act has some appeal... also, since this is Bond's first mission as a "double O" it kind of shows how reckless or care-free he is to cross certain boundaries.

It's worth watching I haven't followed older Bond movies much before Brosnan to the extent that they stand out in memory, but I wonder how many movies they'll use Craig for... or how many they typically use an actor for before a new actor gets the role.

edit: and of course some opinions in Off-Topic Banter: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36785 - I remember how many people were disappointed when Craig was announced as the new Bond, but I think, as someone in the OT thread said, he's a believable killer. Seems more realistic and darker.

OK booked at the Sheraton.
We'll be able to walk to the minigolf and restaurant, I'm so excited!
They even allow dogs, as nice of a hotel it is, but I'm not sure we may just bring them to doggy daycare anyways.

My friend might be joining us and he has a G35. Originally he was gonna ride with me, but it turns out he has another engagement at night, so if he does come he said he'd drive up in his own car. I suspect he'd leave before or shortly after Ft. DeSoto to tend to his other plans.

So you may not be the only non-propeller driver

By the way, I'm not sure if it's been said yet, but if you guys want to have some fun and go really fast we should drive over the Courtney Camble Bridge (the bridge that connects Clearwater and Tampa) at around 3PM. Assuming we don't get stuck behind a bunch of old people driving at 60MPH (only two lanes) you can get up to near max speed (140MPH) or so around the real bridge part of the bridge.

Just a thought...

Nothing better than 10+ E90s traveling over 120MPH in sync.

Nikki, I'll let you take the lead on that one, go ahead I've been PM'ing FL people as I see them, so maybe just making a thread in General would suffice... dunno if the mods would move it though It's nice to have regional subforums but it would help if there was a way to notify everyone of a meet since not everyone visits them.

Some fun SAFE spirited driving is alright with me, but I'm not sure we'd be able to make the Courtney Campbell since it's no where near our first meeting location.

I just checked the driving directions I posted from Guppy's to Ft. DeSoto and it looks like it's all on regular roads, not on an interstate, so I'm not sure how fast we'd be able to travel.

Any thoughts? Nikki, where were you thinking about for photos near the causeway? ie. which causeway

If someone wants to do a sanity check on the maps/directions then please do.

Gotcha. Well, lets put it this way: If you're going slower than 5MPH OVER the speed limit and I'm stuck behind you, I'll be tailgatin' your ass. In Pinellas County, for those of you that don't know, no cop (well, almost no cop) will stop you even at 10MPH over the limit. 15MPH over the limit is what I'd consider the danger zone if there is a cop nearby. Anyone have a radar detector in their car? A V1 maybe?
