Imran I'm in Malaysia driving a 2010 320d. According to the dealers the engine was tuned differently from Germany to accept the slightly better than the Euro 2 diesel we have here and it doesn't come with a DPF. Power/torque is still quoted to be 177hp/350Nm though.

Here is a graph from an auto - as you can see it is very smooth.

You can have less power if you want. We can also provide an additional map but this would incur an additional cost. We feel that additional maps are just a gimmick as the remaps we give as default provide extra MPG anyway.

There is not problem with switching maps often if the instructions are followed correctly.
Very intresting! What about max torque in?
Many discussions on several boards seem to revolve around the GA6HP19Z rumoured max rated torque of 400nm..

These changes are no problem for us.

Your car is post March 2009 so not remappable via the OBD. Only directly on the ECU here at evolve HQ.

Hi Anders

Thanks! We have tuned many cars in Sweden now with the Switch. Mainly X5/X6 35d's and 335d's.

Your car has latest ECU encryption so can only be done by sending your ECU to us or visiting us. The switch unit will not work unfortunately.

Hello guys,

new user on the e90post and also fairly new BMW-owner.
Took me one test drive to fall in love with BMW's 6-cylinder diesel
This car is already standard a nice performer, but as you know one gets used to the power after a while and want's more.

Imran, after reading around on various forums about peoples impressions and experiences with Evolve's performance maps andproducts, one can't get less than amazed over how much good feedback you guys are getting
Seems like you have really done a superb job tuning these already great engines into bulletproof monsters!

As I am now convinced on what upgrade to go for, I just wanted to check if you still have any discount offers on the Evolve Switch?
Saw that I missed the drive that ended in Jan

Been driving my evolved 320d for a week now so time for some more impressions as my original WOW was not very decriptive!

As others have said on here the process of getting the remap and the switch was very easy. The switch arrived the day after ordering it and the download of the ecu map was very easy. I had the adapted file back from Imran on the following working day and the upload procedure was a doodle. There is a message which comes up about having a battery charger connected which I ignored.

I have since switched back to the original map at the weekend before the car went in for service and toogling between the 2 maps is really easier. I reprogrammed it in the dealership carpark when they were done

The car itself is extremely responsive and loads more power is available, one major advantage is how low in the revs 6th and 5th work when cruising back from work, it makes cuise control on the manual actually worthwhile.

I have only had one opportunity to take the car down some country lanes and what a smile it gave me, the pickup coming out of bends is incredible.

One final thing has made this all worthwhile, I am having fun with this but also my economy is at 57mpg after 2 tanks worth.Calculated against the actual consumption not the dash guage.

I recommend this to anyone and thanks guys!

Impossible for me to be at the evolve HQ with my car unfortunately. I sure hope you get a switch for the newer ECUs soon. Thanks for the info!

With a brand new 320d E91 on the way I'd like to say that I'm (very) interested in the outcome of this!

I do have some experience of these switchable maps (Bluefin on an Audi A3 2.0TFSI Quattro) and the added functionality come service time is a bonus. Especially with a lease car.

Hi Imran,

I have a brand new 325d 204BHP version. Do you have a remap for this yet as I understand that there is some kind of anti-hack/remap protection on the ECU.

Please advice.

Cheers

Daniel

Thank you for the update.

Is there a plan to introduce a switchable unit or is it not possible on this version of the e90 ECU?

Regards

Daniel

Once it is possible to remap the car via the OBD port yes but we have no idea how far away this is.
