2011 E90 October Delivery and Pricing

Hello all,

First post, sorry for it being so long...

I ordered a 328i x-Drive in August, my VIR indicated 6VC Combox controller as N/C. Production was completed on Sept. 7 or 8, shipped and arrived last week and has made it to my dealership and is ready for delivery. I ordered the car with metallic paint, value package, premium package, sport package w/paddle shifters, automatic, heated steering, navigation, smartphone integration, split rear seat and satellite radio. I've been in constant contact with the dealership about the Sept. updates including the upgrade back to the HiFi Sound System and the ConnectedDrive updates based on the fact that my car was finished with production so close to the beginning of Sept. According to my sales rep, after he inspected the car, it does have the tweeters in the front doors, so it sounds like it does have that Sept. HiFi update. He also said it did not come with the Y-cable and that they plugged an Ipod in using the standard Ipod cable (one wire integration) and it worked and displayed album art, so it appears to have the ConnectedDrive updates as well. But I will be checking on other functionality that was supposed to be part of the ConnectedDrive enhancements (I do not have a BB so I'm not sure how much of the Mobile Office I can check), but will check the external call lists, bluetooth music streaming, one-write integration, album cover art, voice control, and driver updates. Anyone have any suggestion on how to check to make sure it has all the new ConnectedDrive enhancements and is there anything I am missing about the new enhanced ConnectedDrive that I should be checking to make sure this is the most current release before I accept delivery?

Also (and this is in hindsight, our agreement is in place), but I’m wondering what others would think of this lease deal?

My comments on the pricing, I know the money factor is a little high, program factor is actually 0.00125. They wouldn’t move on that, but if the overall deal (not taking into account the $1,000 BMW Ultimate Driving Experience offer, which was extended through Oct.) offsets the rate and gives reasonable payment, I’m ok with that. I figure the $1,000 took about $30 off the payment, would have been about $591 without that offer.

From reading other posts on this board, I’m thinking I might be taking delivery of one of the first September production E90’s, so I will report back on my findings for the ConnectedDrive when I go in for delivery which is scheduled for Weds. 10/6 at 6:00 pm CST.

Any feedback I could get regarding the pricing and how to confirm it includes the latest ConnectedDrive enhancements would be appreciated.

Thanks

P.S. Sorry about the formatting, I'm not sure how to line the columns up better for an easier read.

Here is an article that outlines the features for the September updates: http://www.bmwblog.com/2010/07/14/se...es-in-the-u-s/

Honestly if you have those features you mentioned it's very unlikely that you will not have all the features that were scheduled to be released. The features are part of one system, its not like they have separate hardware for just one feature thats in the article. That being said, are you saying if it does not have every feature listed that you will not accept delivery? The features were never guaranteed to be on the vehicle, and issues can come up with adding new features that may cause the manufacturer to delay them. Anyway, good luck and congrats on the new car.

I believe there is a service bulletin floating somewhere that outlines what features for sure will be built in for sept. I remember reading somewhere that not all the features listed in the article would make it, not 100% though.

From what I've been reading and although it appears the car does have the 6VC combox and the ConnectedDrive enhancements, I guess I want to be sure and am looking for advice for a simple way to determine if they are on the car. I do have the service bulletin which is pretty clear, but reading the M3 and F10 posts, it seems there is a fair amount of uncertainty if these enhancements were actually going to be made beginning in september or not (seems like depending on the model appears there have been delays) and if the full update as detailed in the bulletin was going to be included or if cars were being produced with only partial updates (whether that be software or hardware). There hasn't been much posted under the 3 series forum on this topic at all. I doubt I would not accept delivery, but I would like to know exactly what I do have before I drive off the lot only to find out later some part of the upgrade/enhancement is missing. I am becoming more confident that appears it is going to be a non-issue based on the fact that it seems to have the updates, but it does annoy me that the dealer had no idea about a significant upcoming change when I ordered the car even though the bulletin was dated back in July and that I had to bring this to their attention.

Also I haven't been real happy with the lease negotiation, it hasn't been much of a negotiation in my mind. I know I'm going to be very happy with the car, but I'm still curious if anyone has any thoughts on the lease agreement detailed above?
