Why does every KIA Optima want to race?
I swear, everytime I'm driving next to a Kia Optima or at a stop light, they always want to race. I think some of them are turbo'd, but I'm sure it's displacement is less than that of a soda bottle.

Interesting, I was challenge a few time by a new white one. He was cruising beside me, honked three times, and took off. Of course, he let off after I passed him with ease. Maybe he thought I was stock? Any who, it seems like only random white cars (plus I keep getting attacked by a white Focus and S5 in Atlanta normally) and Mustangs challenge me (boring).

Some are turbo...I know someone who has one and they asked me to move their car. I proceeded to take it for a spirited test drive and it was actually kind of quick. That being said I was an embarassing 5 minutes ripping around in a Kia

274hp, 269lb-ft of torque. Its straight line speed is pretty impressive for such an inexpensive family sedan. Though, its obviously not as fast as a 335i, but it can beat a lot of other cars out there.

Why is it that Hyundais and Kias seem to underperform compared to their horsepower specs? For example, Car and Driver tested a turbocharged Optima and only got it to trap 96 mph in the quarter. A 335i, with only 26 more horsepower, 31 lb/ft of torque, and similar weight traps almost 10 mph faster. Are they overrating their engines or is there some inefficiency somewhere?

The optimas are really nice. I went with my mom to test drive the turbo and it was comfortable and quiet and decently quick. She said it drove like the maxima she also test drove. She asked if I wanted to drive it but I declined
