Shiv, will V1.47 + DP=More power?

Hello Shiv,

I’m sure others have this on their mind. My PROcede 1.47 e90 feels SLOWER to me now. I want more power and frankly can’t wait to get my hands on V2.0. So my question to you is that will cat-less DP with V1.47 yield more power or do we have to wait until you produce a DP specific map? Also can DP some how negatively effect the V1.47’s performance.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Vince

I can tell you right now before I installed my DP's my friends E60 M5 would pass me in 3rd gear at like 100mph.... now with the Downpipes he doesnt pass me until I am in 4th gear at like 115-120... and I currently have 1.47 map...

So yes your going to get a good amount of power that will make a HUGE difference!

don't need Shiv to answer this... of course, it'll yield more power...that's what aftermarket DP's do.

unless, you're already at the threshold of not reaching a boost target, and the downpipes are just enough to put it over the edge...

Adding DPs will add more power. Im waiting for the Riss DPs they have done some testing with 1.47 showing a good power increase.

Charlie, I haven't checked that huge thread lately. Do we know how much the DPs will cost and when will they be available?

YES your car will make more power with the free flow DPs

BUT I am waiting to hear from Shiv as to whether or not it is safe to run the Procede V1.47 with the DPs or if the car will have too much boost?

The Ultimate Racing tests and M&M's tests show an increase of at least 1psi when the free flow DPs are installed and since Shiv is already holding back boost in certain parts of the RPM range I have some questions about how much boost is safe for the engine (read -- pistons and head gasket) and the poor little turbos.

We really need Shiv to answer this question but I think that the DPs will help the people who have the LBT map issue. The reason for the LBT map is that some cars in some situations can't hit the "boost target" and since the DPs help to make more boost it will be easier to reach the "boost target" with the new DPs installed. Make sense?

Shiv has already stated in another thread that the 1.47 map is safe to use with DPs. he just hasn't gotten a set for himself to make a specific map for it.

Did they post a dyno of that? I haven't seen it yet.

why wouldn't it be safe?! like what would happen? come on...i think it's a ridiculous question to ask.

that's like questioning if it's safe to add a K&N filter w/ Procede or an exhaust w/ Procede.

It's a legitimate question. More boost spikes or higher boost can easily be seen with DP replacement. Higher boost usually demands more fuel which begs the question of suitability of the normal map for this mod. Probably not a big safety problem in this case (from Shiv's initial feeling). However, regular map may not be optimum. I sure as hell wouldn't do it with 1.47 Procede until Shiv checked it out on his car. Which he may be doing right now, according to his last update on the subject (as pointed out by 335iheLLraiseR).

Usually adding a downpipe will gain top end power at the cost of some bottom end response.
Of course our turbos are very small so maybe the loss on the bottom end won't matter.
