Was this in Laguna Niguel? I heard something on the news about a m3 and benz racing and the m3 lost control and killed himself and injured two others. sorry for your loss. Hopefully this will raise even more awareness that street racing is extremely dangerous.

I understand he's your friend. And you may hate me for saying this.
But I don't feel sorry at all. What he did was incredibly selfish and putting other peoples lives at risk.

sad to hear.

even when i get enough money i would never get my future child/ren such high performance car. teenagers just tend too misjudge things and end up into trouble or something tragic like this.

Sorry to hear.

If the story was that the 18yrs old kid was street racing in the M3 and died, I don't feel bad for their parents. Thats plain stupid. They should feel guilty for rest of their lives. I don't care if I become the number 2 bill gate, my kids are going to start out with a 1980 pinto.

Pinto's gas tanks explode when rear-ended. Try something a little safer. 1986 Volvo 240.

sad story. i have a friend who's younger brother raced his car, lost an arm, and ended up killing a couple people. was stupid for him to do? very much so, but at that point, there is no reason to bad mouth. If they are even lucky enough to get out alive, they would have learned their lesson.

the fact that the parents gave this 18 year old an M3 does not mean they are deserving of this. a teenager will try to race ANY car given to them, if they are into fast cars, they would probably try to race with a camry. I know, I have done it before.

I honestly don't believe that members of this board, bimmerfest, or e46fanatics have not had a stupid race at some point in their life. They may have been fortunate enough to where nothing happened to them, but that does not mean they have the right to badmouth those that do race and screw up... if you street race, your just as guilty as this kid.

was the kid stupid? probably, but many young guys are. regardless of the circumstance, it is sad he died and i feel for his family.

--Unless his parents had no ideal how fast the car really was. Maybe they thought that they were getting him a "safe car." I also agree that a 18yr old is not ready for a car of that caliber...hell, the way that I drove when I was that age, if I had anything other than my 92 ford tempo GL, I might have been in the same place.

If that was the case, my point is valid. Stupid.

The drivers did not deserve to died, but they could have very well killed other people. It was an incredibly stupid and selfish way to died.
