ModBargins or JGmods?

Hey guys ,

I have heard a lot of talk about CC fraud about **********s which has made me very nervous to buy stuff from them. I recently purchased my KW's and m3 sides skirts with out any issues.

However i was looking on Jgmods and they look to have similar pricing but I haven't really heard too much about them and i cannot find too many reviews.

I'm looking to pick up the front and back mtech bumper for my 2009 328 xi coupe . An I wanted to know has anyone purchased from recently from them ? and is **********s still legit?

Is JGmods cs just as good as well ?

Thnx for the reply's.

I purchased from **********s recently (amber delete's). The product was crap, but they had good customer service, and no ccfraud so far....

As far as the amber delete's go: I threw them away and just took my car to a vynil shop and had them do a custom overlay.

I've had good experience with both. Each are top notch imo. JGMOD fixed the problem I had with their bumper, and I was very happy.

Suggestion: Use a credit card that allows generating a single-use credit card number with the charge limit you specify. Then you're doubly protected; the vendor you give it to can't charge more than the limit you set and the cc number will be denied if it's used again somewhere else. If you return the item, the company that made the charge can issue a refund to the number, but otherwise the number is one-and-done.

I just use an amex and don't worry about it. They back their customers 99% of the time. and I am not liable for any fraud chargers. Visa on the other hand I've heard a few people screwed over by them. Though I just started a dispute with visa so I am not sure how they will stand. But doesn't look good so far to be honest.

+1 on AMEX customer service.

Reality though is in the US, you have zero liability if your card number is fraudulently used and you still posess your card. $50 is your maximum liability if you lose your actual card and only applies up to when you report the card lost/stolen. I still will use the temporary card numbers to avoid any potential hassle, or if I suspect the vendor might try a recurring charge such as an automatic subscription renewal.

See http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/cons...dit/cre04.shtm

THIS is why I do NOT use debit cards. You simply do not have the same protections.

Great experience with **********s.
highly satisfied with the customer service.
They have good knowledge of their products as well.

No experience with JGMods, but heard good reviews about them as well.

Good info, thanks!

And OP: I haven't heard anything bad from either but haven't used either. Also Modmy3 worth a shot too

I can vouch for Jay of JGMods. He's a cool guy to work with, gets the job done, and He's reasonable with his prices. I had two items done by his team: painted my rear MTEC bumper, installation, and front lip spoiler -Quality finish.

I don't work for him, but met him at a couple local meets. Maybe you can get a better feel of his business if you can attend some of the local SF Bay Area meets.
