Looking at a 1986 325es for strickly a track car can anyone tell me if this is a good or bad idea

Good that lots of folks do that and have a great experience. The e30 isn't quick but it is fast and great to learn with. So I hear from friends.

Bad that you could get hooked on the sport and spend tons of weekends and money doing that.
